Who this policy covers

This policy covers porchlightpet.com and, once ordering opens, orders and Autoship subscriptions with Porchlight. Porchlight Dog Supplements is operated by Crane Health Holdings LLC dba Porchlight Pet. The policy is written for visitors and customers in the United States.

Information you provide

This site has no account, signup or contact form, and checkout is switched off, so today it does not ask you to submit personal information. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.

Once ordering opens

When you place an order, we will collect what we need to fill it: your name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, the items you order, and your Autoship settings if you choose Autoship.

Payment details go to our payment processor, NMI, which handles them under its own privacy policy. Porchlight does not keep your full payment details.

How we use information

• To fill and ship orders, run Autoship, and give refunds under our guarantee.
• To answer your questions and send emails about your orders and Autoship.
• To understand how the site is used and make it better.
• To guard against fraud and misuse, keep the site secure, and meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.
• To send marketing email, only if you sign up for it.

Analytics and your choices

This site uses Google Analytics by default to understand page visits and how the site is used. Porchlight does not use advertising pixels on this site, and Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics does not load. You can turn analytics off, or back on, with the “Privacy choices” control in the footer. Your choice is saved in this browser, and turning analytics off takes full effect from the next page you open. If your browser does not allow the site to save choices, turning it off lasts only for the page you are on. Google describes how it handles information in its privacy policy.

Information saved in your browser

The site saves two small things in your browser’s local storage: the contents of your cart, so your picks stay put between pages, and your analytics choice from the “Privacy choices” control. They stay in your browser and are not sent to us. When Google Analytics loads, it also sets its own cookies to count visits. You can clear all of this in your browser settings.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run Porchlight, and only for that work:

• Vercel, which hosts this website and may keep standard request and security logs needed to run and protect it.
• Google, for Google Analytics, as described above.
• Our commerce platform, built on Medusa, which will hold order records once ordering opens.
• NMI, to process payments once ordering opens.
• Resend, to send order and Autoship emails.
• Jetpack, which packs and ships orders.
• USPS and UPS, to deliver orders.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Porchlight, our customers or others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.

No selling, no targeted advertising

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising: the site has no advertising pixels, and Google signals and ad personalization are turned off in Google Analytics. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser, and Google Analytics does not load.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We will honor these requests from anyone in the United States.

To make a request, email care@porchlightpet.com. We will confirm the request by matching it to the information we hold, such as your email address and order details. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof that you gave permission and ask you to confirm your identity. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

We respond in the time the law requires. If we decline a request, we will explain why, and you can appeal by replying to our decision. We will answer the appeal, and if you still disagree we will tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

How long we keep information

We keep order records for as long as we need them to fill orders, honor our guarantee, handle returns and disputes, and meet tax and accounting rules, and then delete or de-identify them. We keep email you send us for as long as we need it to help you.

How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and limits on who can reach personal information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be exposed.

Children

Porchlight is for adult dog owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and you must be 18 or older to order. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Email and text messages

Once ordering opens, we will send emails about your orders and Autoship; these are part of the service while you have an order or an active subscription. Marketing email goes only to people who sign up, and you can unsubscribe from any marketing email at any time. We do not send text messages. If that changes, we will ask for your permission first and update this policy.

Our pages may link to other sites, such as Google’s privacy policy. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Updates to this policy
